One-to-one recreation activation

One-to-one Recreation Activation is an intervention where you work one-on-one with a Recreation Therapist to create an individualized plan catered to your goals. Both preferred and novel recreation and leisure activities will be used to support individuals looking to improve their mood, provide daily structure and routine, combat feelings of boredom, and provide a sense of connection and purpose.

 

Interventions will focus on engaging individuals in the broader community to build on strengths, develop new skills, explore accessible leisure opportunities, process experiences (front loading, debriefing, and feedback), and use tools to make connections between leisure pursuits and relevant areas of wellness.

 

Individuals that may benefit from one-to-one recreation activation are

  • Individuals experiencing social isolation or social anxiety

  • Individuals struggling with anxiety

  • Individuals struggling with depression

  • Individuals looking to enhance their daily structure or routines

  • Individuals looking to improve social connection or enhance social skills

  • Individuals struggling with substance misuse/abuse

  • Individuals with a desire to increase motivation, improve mood or explore accessible leisure within their community
